The statutes set out the purpose of the association, membership, the board, and the use of funds. They are the basis of our non-profit status under §§ 34 ff. BAO and are reviewed at every general assembly. Version: December 2025.

What the statutes regulate
§ 1 Name, seat, area of activity
The association is named "IKAZE – Ruandas Kulturverein", with its seat in Vienna (delivery address: 1170 Vienna, Weidmanngasse 16/10), and operates throughout the federal territory of Austria.
§ 2 Purpose
Promotion, preservation, and representation of African culture in Austria. The association fosters intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence. It refrains from any party-political activity and pursues exclusively non-profit purposes.
§ 3 Means
- Non-material: festivals, events, lectures, workshops, seminars, music, dance, and folklore events.
- Material: membership fees, grants and subsidies, donations, income from association events.
§ 4 Types of membership
- Regular members: active members with voting rights.
- Extraordinary members: supporting members without voting rights.
- Honorary members: appointed by the general assembly, without voting rights.
§ 12 Board
The board consists of six people — chair and deputy, secretary and deputy, treasurer and deputy. Term of office: two years, re-election permitted.
§ 16 Dissolution
Voluntary dissolution requires a two-thirds majority at a specially convened general assembly. Any remaining association assets must be transferred to a non-profit organisation with a similar purpose.
