Africa'sculture,Viennaroots.
IKAZE preserves and represents African culture in Austria — guided by intercultural dialogue, carried by a volunteer board and a growing membership.
IKAZE — Kinyarwanda for "welcome" — was founded in 2019 to add a voice to Vienna's cultural landscape that is too often missing in Austria: that of Africa, with special ties to Rwanda.
We treat culture as encounter. Our events, education projects, and charity initiatives create rooms in which stories are shared — eye to eye, without folklore clichés, with real ambition.
What we do
Three programmes, one purpose — keeping African culture present in Austria and supporting it concretely.

What members & funders say
Three voices from our circle — they understand why we do what we do.
We have supported IKAZE digitally since 2023, and we see how consistently the association documents its work and opens it to a wider audience. That is exactly what makes IKAZE worth supporting for us.
SKSebastian KernDigital supporter since 2023IKAZE connects Rwandan culture with Vienna in a way that invites rather than lectures. Since 2023 we have been helping make that voice more visible online — and we do it out of conviction.
